AFTER THE SHOW

When a project is implemented, it will have some sort of impact on normal operations (if in a business) or on the lives of an external customer (it it’s b2c). Planning for that impact is an important part of the delivery of any project and the more it’s considered as part of the project deliverables, the more successful the long term assessment of the project will be.

DELIVER ON COMMUNICATION

Communication is an importnat part of any project. A project should not only be measured on its outcomes, but also on how it was delivered. The overall goal may be a finished product or service, but along the road to completion, many other deliverables are expected. I believe that communication should not just be an action, but something that a project must deliver.

WHEN AGILE GOES BAD!

Agile project management, like any project management discipline, has processes and controls designed to ensure project success. A customer needs to understand the process as much as the project manager and time should be taken to help them understand it.

THIS IS GOING TO COST HOW MUCH?

When giving estimates for your project or work, make sure you have done enough work to stand over that estimate. Don’t guess. This way, if challenged by a client on the costs, you can deal with the facts of the quotation with strong argument.
