THE PROJECT BODY

A project manager is alot like the brain in the body. An effective project manager will be totally in touch with the team and every aspect of the project. Like the body, if there is a problem, the project manger will get it addressed as fast as possible without waiting for the ailments to get worse!

LESSONS VS. LESSONS LEARNT

Management, in projects and generally, will always undertake a lessons learned exercise. The problem is that often the lessons learned aren’t applied and the same lessons are “learned” every time a project is undertaken. time needs to be taken to implement the lessons learned for the benefit of future projects and business operations.

INCEPTION & PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Like the movie Inception, for the everything to work out each sub-element needs to work out exactly. So it is with project management. The entire project will not work unless there is as much focus on each sub-element or work package.

EARLY ENGAGEMENT

Early engagement by project managers with line managers can help ensure project success. Open communication from both sides will help things run more smoothly and allow for a more accurate project planning process.

HOW DO YOU COMMUNICATE?

Communication face to face is always the most effective. Are we losing this skill?

THE A-TEAMS GUIDE TO SUCCESS

The A-Teams Guide to Project Management Success. The leader of the A-Team, Colonel John “Hannibal” Smith, has a very unorthodox but effective style of management.

TORN BETWEEN TWO MASTERS

Project managers and line managers can often end up in conflict when it comes to how resources are assigned to projects and their priorities. With some foresight and planning though, this does not have to be the case.
