Operating a truly effective fighting team of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles can be daunting. It requires skill, dedication, tolerance, an ability to rebound from failure, and a desire for righteousness. Mastering many Martial Arts is also useful. You’re probably asking how did “Splinter, a giant rat become Sensei and paternal figure to the most incredible fighting Turtles the world has ever seen?”
Find a Mentor:
Splinter was able to learn his master’s art by mimicking his movements while he practiced. Finding a mentor that can teach you the ways of the management world will prove worthwhile.
Learn to adapt:
Splinter was forced to run away and live in New York City’s sewers. Due to a traffic accident, four baby turtles and a canister of radioactive slime were sent down into the sewer, where they mutated both Splinter and the turtles. Splinter and the Turtles adapted to their surroundings eventually thrived. As a Project Manager, you should be able to apply your trade in any environment.
Punish Incompetence:
Many of your team will be as clumsy as they are stupid ala Michelangelo. Show them your dominance by denying them of pizza for the night. Continue to punish people until they finally learn their lesson.
Always Look for Talent:
Periodically, you will come across something special. Realize that they can be your key to success. Splinter discovered four Mutant turtles and named them Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo. Splinter trained them and they together became the most renowned fighting force New York City has ever seen.
Power is what Matters:
Your ability to assert yourself in a difficult situation depends on your power. If you have power, you can have anything you desire. Stop at nothing to get it.
Be devoted to your Team:
Splinter cares for his adopted sons with fierce devotion, going so far as to rescue them from the Shredder’s grasp and all the way to Japan after the four had been kidnapped. This type of dedication will gain you respect in any environment.
Always Plan:
Always remember that a far-reaching plan, which relies on people reacting exactly how you plan for them to react, is always better than a simple plan. Nothing exemplifies your genius quite like a meticulous, detailed, super-plan which will go hideously askew if people don’t react exactly the way you believe they will.
Those are a few pointers that Splinter has used to make his climb from the pet cage, to defeating Shredder and his Army of Foot Soldiers who planned to run riot in New York City. Splinter ultimately managed to oversee the formation of the ultimate power in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. With the right effort, you can, too.
